Lagos Isn’t One of the Worst Cities To Live In – Falz’s Dad
Reports coming in over the weekend have placed our dear Lagos as the third worst city in the world to live in according to the Economist Intelligence Unit.
The job of deriding the conditions in Nigeria has for a very long time been the sole responsibility of Nigerians. Only Nigerians are allowed to “yab” Nigeria, the rest of the world ought to have some respect for our suffering and shut their mouths. This latest ranking however comes following others where it seems like we have improved however marginally like in corruption ranking where Nigeria moved up two places while in others like the police ranking, Nigeria ranks dead last. To go over the conditions in Nigeria topically, what’s not to love? The roads? The traffic? The constant electricity? The adequate security? The bubbling economy? The heat? The generator noise? The bad air, perpetually smoky air? The efficient transport, the list just goes on. In defence, Falz The Bad Guy’s dad who is also a human rights lawyer, fighting for the rights of people to decent living, sprung up in defence of Nigeria’s most prized jewel stating that the reports must be false.
At least it wasn’t Lai Mohammed talking this time. Lagos is not the best but is Lagos really that bad that only places like Yemen and Syria are worse?
