Leah Sharibu: No Release Until Further Notice – FG
Recently, a post was shared about Leah Sharibu, the Christian girl who was kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists and how a church in Nasarawa warned the federal government to be more proactive in seeking out Leah else they risk divine wrath. Today however, speaking through the special adviser on media and publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the presidency has come out with a less than desirable statement possibly reflecting the efforts being invested in seeing Leah back and at home with her family by saying “only God knows” when she would be returned.
This comes off the recent audio recording released with Leah’s voice being identified prominently within it. Within the recording, Leah Sharibu says:
“I am Leah Sharibu, the girl that was abducted in GGSS Dapchi. I am calling on the government and people of goodwill to intervene to get me out of my current situation.
“I also plead to members of the public to help my mother, my father, my younger brother and relatives.
“Kindly help me out of my predicament. I am begging you to treat me with compassion. I am calling on the government, particularly the President to pity me and get me out of this serious situation. Thank you.”
The recording is “under investigation” by the DSS while the rest of country waits on for further information. It seems more like the security challenges facing the country have risen to the ranks of principalities and powers that cannot be controlled by anyone less than God himself.
